LanguageCert Test of English (LTE)

A certificate confirming proficiency in English in a business environment. It includes the Listening & Reading modules (A1–C2) as well as additional Writing and Speaking components.

LanguageCert International ESOL (IESOL)

The exam is intended for students who wish to study anywhere in the world and for candidates looking to enhance the appeal of their CV or online profile.

LanguageCert Academic SELT

These exams are required as part of the visa application process for the United Kingdom for academic purposes, such as international studies or employment.

The exam

Listening & Reading

  • Listening: 25 questions assessing comprehension of spoken English in business situations.
  • Reading: 35 questions testing understanding of texts in business contexts.

Speaking

  • A conversation with an examiner (approx. 15 minutes), from simple to more complex questions.
  • Assessed by an independent LanguageCert team.

Writing

  • 2 texts: a short message (60–100 words) and a longer text (a report, article or review).
  • Accuracy and coherence of writing are key.

LanguageCert International ESOL B2 (Communicator)

About the certificate

Candidates from all over the world take the LanguageCert IESOL B2 exam in order to study internationally and/or to add official proof of their language skills to their CV and platforms such as LinkedIn. B2 is the most frequently chosen level; however, IESOL also offers other CEFR levels, for example B1, C1 or C2.

LanguageCert International ESOL exams are widely recognised around the world.

Exam structure
  • Exam duration:
    • Written exam: Listening 30 minutes; Reading and Writing 2 hours 10 minutes (total 2 hours 40 minutes).
    • Speaking exam: 13–15 minutes; you receive a separate certificate for each part.
  • Online Live Proctoring – the exam is taken online, one-to-one with an examiner.
  • Flexible exam dates.
  • Before the exam:
    • position the camera with the door behind you,
    • clear your desk,
    • set your phone to silent mode.

LanguageCert Academic SELT

About the certificate

LanguageCert Academic SELT is a multilevel exam (covering levels B1–C2 according to the CEFR) designed for users of English as a foreign language for academic purposes (e.g. international studies, recruitment). It is administered at designated, secure exam centres in order to meet all UK Home Office visa requirements, allowing candidates to apply for a visa and for university admission.

Exam structure
  • The exam consists of:
    • listening, reading, writing (written module),
    • speaking (spoken module).
  • Written module: 2 hours 20 minutes (listening 40, reading 50, writing 50). Once you start writing, you cannot return to earlier parts.
  • Spoken module: 14 minutes, 4 tasks.
  • The exam can be taken in one day or within 14 days.
  • Results available within 5 working days.
  • Levels: B1–C2 CEFR.
  • Purpose: university admission, student visa.
