DIGITEKA – Didactic Materials Centre

It is a collection of over 2,000 materials for students and lecturers (including case studies, manuals, videos and books) from various fields such as philology, IT, law, psychology and management.

Opening hours of the Library:

Monday: closed
Tuesday: 8:00–16:00
Wednesday: 8:00–14:30
Thursday: 8:00–16:00

Search, borrow or order books via the online library catalogue.

As a rule, books are borrowed for 14 days and textbooks for 31 days, but this period can be extended. You may have up to 4 items on loan at one time. Some titles are for in‑library use only.

Library – where to start?

Students of WSB Merito University use the Library’s resources free of charge. To borrow books, you must have a valid student ID card or a free library card.

How to order/reserve a book?

Step 1: Go to the Merito Library online catalogue and log in using your library card number and password.

Step 2: Use the search box to find the book you want to borrow.

Step 3: Check availability. If the book is available, click “Borrow”; if it is not, you can place a reservation.

Step 4: After ordering the book, you will receive a confirmation and will be able to collect it at the pickup location you selected.

Extension (renewal) of a loan

  • You have full control over your loans and can extend due dates without visiting the Library.
  • You can renew the due date of a borrowed book yourself by logging in to your library account.
  • A loan can be renewed once, provided there are no other reservations for that book.
Book reservations

Thanks to the online reservation system, you can track book availability and reserve copies that are currently unavailable (on loan). When the book is returned, you will receive an e‑mail notification and will be able to choose a convenient pickup location – in the Library or from the book locker. You can cancel your reservation at any time. If a book you have borrowed is reserved by another user, you will no longer be able to extend its due date.

Book returns
  • You can return books during the Library’s opening hours, either in person or via someone who returns them on your behalf.
  • You can also return books outside opening hours by placing them in the book drop at the Targówek Campus, ul. Łabiszyńska 25.
  • You may return books by post or courier; the address is given in the Contact section. Remember to add the note “Library” on the parcel.

How do I use electronic resources?

Using the library’s electronic resources is simple and convenient. You can browse the online catalog by logging into your library account with your card number and password. The catalog allows you to search for books and journals, as well as order and reserve them. In addition to traditional resources, the library offers access to electronic databases such as IBUK Libra, BIBLIO ebookpoint, and LEX, which contain extensive collections of academic publications and legal information.

  • The reading room is equipped with computer workstations with Internet access.
  • You have open access to books and journals there.
  • The book collection is arranged by subject areas.

Digital library

  • Browse the library resources without leaving your home.
  • Here you will find journals, books, textbooks, podcasts, and many more materials that have been prepared especially for the Digital Library.
  • In the "teaching materials" section, you will find teaching aids and materials, including case studies and multimedia recordings such as videos, divided into thematic collections.

    LEX Akademia + Lexotek

    A legal database updated daily, providing access to the complete body of court and administrative case law, legal literature, and sources of Polish law. It also includes the Legal and Economic Information service and the Polish Legal Bibliography of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

    A platform with e-books from publishers such as Wydawnictwo Naukowe PWN, Wolters Kluwer Polska, PWE, C.H. Beck, IMPULS, Helion, and others, as well as university presses in the fields of economics, humanities, social sciences, natural and mathematical sciences, law, medicine, and sports.

    THE PURPOSE AND THE LEGAL BASIS FOR DATA PROCESSING AS WELL AS THE RETENTION PERIODS
    Marketing purposes
    By your consent, your data will be processed for marketing purposes for five years counted from September 1 of the year following the date of your consent. Thanks to this consent, we will be able to send you information about our offer, the events organized by us and the campaigns that we have prepared for you.
    The implementation of educational services and data storage after the completion of the service
    In order to provide educational service during the course of your studies by taking necessary actions before the conclusion of the contract, as well as to guarantee storing the data after performing the service, your data will be processed on the basis of the contract or the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science, for the period of:
    1) 50 years, under paragraph 15, item 4, of the Ordinance of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of September 27, 2018, regarding studies;
    2) 50 years, if the documentation concerns the postgraduate and the MBA studies;
    3) resulting from applicable legal provisions for other educational services (e.g. training);
    4) 6 months from the end of the enrolment process if you do not take up studies with us.

    WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA?
    As a university, on a daily basis we use the services of companies, thanks to which we provide you with the highest standard of service.
    Your data may be forwarded to them for processing on our behalf. It happens most often in the case of cooperation with a specific service provider (e.g. a provider of data storage services, a provider of postal, courier, payment, legal, insurance, IT as well as audit services) or a subcontractor (e.g. marketing agency). We may also transfer your data to entities affiliated with us by shares or by a person. In this situation, the transfer of data does not entitle other entities to any processing, but only to use them for the purposes explicitly indicated by us. In no case does the transfer of data release us as the Administrator from the responsibility for their processing.

    WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR DATA PROCESSING?
    You have the right to:
    1. request access to your data;
    2. correct of your data;
    3. request the obliteration of your data if:
    - you will withdraw your consent to their processing;
    - your data cease to be necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or otherwise processed;
    - you object to the use of your data for marketing purposes;
    - you object to the use of your data to adapt our services to your preferences;
    - your personal details are processed unlawfully;
    4. request the restrictions on the processing of your data;
    5. object to their processing;
    6. request the transfer of your data;
    7. withdraw your consent for data processing at any time, as long as it is based on your consent. The withdrawal of your consent does not affect the processing of your data carried out by us before its withdrawal.
    You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection when you feel that the processing of your data violates the provisions of applicable law.
    The provision of personal data for marketing purposes is voluntary.
    The provision of data for the purposes of providing educational services and archiving data after the service has been provided is required by law or is necessary for the conclusion of the contract. If you refuse to provide your data or provide incorrect data, we will not be able to provide the service for you.
