The Research Federation

Academic career development and doctoral seminar organization are supervised by the Research Federation of WSB & DSW Merito Universities.

This modern federation unites universities to support research projects and advance academic work. It is authorized to award doctoral and post-doctoral degrees in 10 fields. Through international and interdisciplinary cooperation, researchers enhance their skills and contribute to the growth of science in Poland.

  • Builds your research skills and prepares you to carry out academic projects.

  • Online classes ensure flexibility and make it easy to work with other participants.

Seminar for future doctoral students

  • A 15‑hour online seminar, available from the 1st to the 8th semester, prepares you for research and your doctoral project.
  • For master’s graduates in pedagogy, psychology, economics, management and related fields.
  • Participants work with academic supervisors from WSB Merito Universities and the University of Lower Silesia DSW and join thematic seminars.

Doctoral procedure

  • This is the final stage on the path to the doctoral degree.
  • It leads to the award of the degree through submitting your dissertation and meeting all legal requirements.
  • The process includes, among other steps, a defence before a committee that evaluates its originality and academic value.

  • media systems in Poland and worldwide, public media, and press studies,
  • new media, electronic communication, theory and practice of journalism, including sports journalism,
  • media sociology, philosophy of communication, media education, and technological activism.

  • physical recreation, competitive sports, and physical activity and fitness,
  • health promotion, health indicators, and research on stress,
  • tourism market functioning and tailoring offers to various market segments, including people with disabilities.

  • psychology of emotions and motivation and personality, as well as social robotics,
  • social and psychological aspects of psychiatric disorders, including predictive and organizational models in mental health care,
  • population mental health, intervention research, and psychotherapy of interpersonal trauma.

This is a research field that includes:

  • preschool, early school, and school education as well as sociolinguistics and bilingualism,
  • volunteering, informal care, and social support,
  • developmental issues of children and youth as well as rehabilitation and social exclusion,
  • coaching, tutoring, professional development of teachers as well as adult education and educational research methodology.

  • sociology of work, organization, and institutions,
  • analysis of migration processes and their impact on society,

  • local and international security, including maritime security and the Baltic Sea region,
  • crisis management, geopolitics, and the geography of security,

  • security of local communities.

Main research areas include:

  • theory and practice of politics, including political systems, electoral processes, and political parties,
  • public administration management and administrative reforms,
  • constitutional law and administrative law,
  • analysis and evaluation of public administration effectiveness,
  • crisis management in public administration.

The main research areas include:

  • the structure and functioning of language, including grammar, phonology and semantics,
  • language development and its variability over time, with a focus on diachronic and synchronic change,
  • discourse analysis and the pragmatics of linguistic communication,
  • the social and cultural determinants of language use (sociolinguistics),
  • foreign language teaching and language acquisition processes.
