You can borrow 10 books for 4 weeks, with the option to extend the loan period (by phone, e‑mail or in the catalog).
Some books are available for in‑library use only.

Library – where to start?
Get familiar with the library training.
- Fill in the form in the online catalog by clicking “Account” (the icon in the top right corner of the screen) and then “Register”.
- Activate your account within 21 days by contacting us in person, by phone or by e‑mail ([email protected], providing your student ID number and field of study).
- Use the login assigned at registration and the password you created whenever you use the catalog.

How to order/reserve a book?
Step 1: Go to the Merito library electronic catalog page and log in using your library card number and password.
Step 2: Use the search tool to find the book you want to borrow.
Step 3: Check availability. If the book is available, click the “Borrow” option. If it is unavailable, you can reserve it.
Step 4: After ordering the book, you will receive a confirmation and will be able to collect it from the university library.
Extension (renewal) of a loan
- You can extend the due date of a borrowed book yourself by logging in to your library account.
- A renewal can be made up to 5 times, provided there are no other reservations for that book.
- You can also extend the due date in person at the library, by phone (+48 42 214 44 78) or by e‑mail ([email protected]).
- If the book is not returned on time, in accordance with the regulations we charge a fee of 0.60 PLN for each day overdue, for each book.
Book reservations
Thanks to the online reservation system, you can track book availability and reserve copies that are currently unavailable (on loan). When the book is returned, you will receive an e‑mail notification and will be able to collect it from the Library.
You can cancel a reservation at any time. If a book you have borrowed is reserved by another user, you will then no longer be able to extend its due date.
Pickup and return
- You can collect books in person during library opening hours or via the book locker located by the reception desk.
- You can also return books outside library opening hours by putting them into the book drop located at the main entrance to the university.
How to use electronic resources?
Using the library’s electronic resources is simple and convenient. You can browse the online catalog by logging in to your library account with your login and password.
The catalog allows you to search for books and journals, as well as to order and reserve them.
In addition to traditional resources, we offer access to electronic databases that contain a wide range of academic publications and legal information.
The login details are the same as for the catalog.

Digiteka – Digital Teaching Materials
It is a collection of over 2,000 materials for students and lecturers (including case studies, manuals, videos, and books) from various fields such as philology, computer science, law, psychology, and management.

LEX
It is a constantly updated legal database that provides access to the full body of court and administrative case law, legal literature, and Polish legal sources. It also includes the Legal and Economic Information Guide and the Polish Legal Bibliography of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
IBUK Libra PWN
It is an e‑book platform with titles from major academic publishers (e.g. PWN, Wolters Kluwer, Helion) covering fields such as economics, humanities, social sciences, law, medicine and sport.
Infor Lex
It is a full‑text database containing legal acts, case law, commentaries and articles from specialist press published by INFOR, covering finance, taxes, accounting and HR.
BIBLIO ebookpoint
It is an e‑book lending service that works similarly to a traditional library. It includes academic titles as well as fiction, self‑help books and specialist publications. The database requires additional registration – click to open the registration instructions.
EBSCO
It is the largest (mainly English‑language) full‑text database covering exact sciences, humanities, social sciences, psychology, education, economics, business, computer science, engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, medical and biomedical sciences, and many other fields.
Science Direct
It offers millions of Elsevier publications, from full‑text journal articles to authoritative book editions. ScienceDirect books span 24 subject collections across disciplines such as biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, chemistry and clinical medicine.
Springer Link
It is a full‑text Springer database that allows you to search and browse electronic journals from many fields, providing access to tables of contents, abstracts and full articles (archive available from 1996).
Wiley-Blackwell
The Wiley‑Blackwell collection includes journals, books and articles published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd (Wiley) and Blackwell Publishers, covering the sciences, humanities and social sciences.
Scopus
It is a database of abstracts and citations created by Elsevier, covering peer‑reviewed journals, scholarly books and conference proceedings, and providing a broad overview of global research outputs across many disciplines.
Web of Science
It is a database created by Thomson Reuters that indexes several thousand journals, monographs and conference materials, and, besides standard bibliographic data, includes reference lists comprising over one billion citations.
Nature
It is one of the oldest and most prestigious scientific journals, published by Nature Publishing Group, presenting discoveries from all areas of natural, engineering, exact and economic sciences, and since 2010 it has been available in Poland under a national academic licence.
Science
It is a scientific journal published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. It has been available under a national academic licence since 2010, which provides access to the current volume and archives from 1997 onwards.
National Library in Warsaw
It contains information about the Library itself and the National Library’s catalog, which gives access to the National Bibliography, including the Bibliographic Guide, the Contents of Periodicals Bibliography, the Bibliography of Electronic Documents and various specialist bibliographies.
KaRo
It is the Union Catalog of Polish Libraries that provides access to information on the holdings of Polish and foreign libraries, helping you find publications or bibliographic records and complementing the NUKAT central catalog.
BazEkon
It is a database co‑created by the Main Libraries of the Universities of Economics in Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań and Katowice, the SGH Library in Warsaw and the Faculty Libraries of the University of Szczecin, containing abstracts or full‑text scholarly articles in economics.
CEON
It is the repository of the Centre for Open Science that contains various scholarly materials such as articles, books, conference papers, reports and doctoral theses, and all materials in the repository are openly accessible.
CEJSH
It is an electronic, open‑access journal that maintains an online database of English abstracts of articles and papers published mainly in national languages in social sciences and humanities journals issued in Central Europe.
BazTech
It is a bibliographic and abstract database of the contents of Polish technical journals, indexing since 1998 articles from Polish periodicals in the fields of technical sciences, exact sciences and environmental protection.
CBOS
Fundacja Centrum Badania Opinii Społecznej is a specialized center that conducts opinion polls representative of Polish society on all major social, political, and economic issues.
Eurostat
The European Statistical Office produces statistical forecasts and analyses for the European Union area, covering topics from regional development and the natural environment to the economy and foreign trade.
GUS
It is the information portal of Statistics Poland (GUS), offering a wide range of statistical data on various aspects of Poland’s socio‑economic life, with indicators available at both regional and national levels and in long time series for trend analysis.

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority oversees the banking sector, capital market, insurance and pension sectors, as well as payment institutions, payment service offices, electronic money institutions and the cooperative savings and credit union sector.
Sejm of the Republic of Poland
The website provides information about the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, its structure and activities, committee meetings, etc. The Internet System of Legal Acts database contains bibliographic records and full texts of legal acts published in the Journal of Laws and the Polish Monitor.

The website provides access to legal acts and documents related to the activities of Narodowy Bank Polski, as well as its publications such as bulletins, guides, reports and analytical studies.

It is a public analytical institution that monitors events and analyses socio‑political and economic processes in countries such as Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic states, the Visegrad Group, the Balkan states and Turkey.
Google Scholar
It is an online search engine used to search databases containing various scholarly publications (articles, books, conference papers, etc.) across many fields of knowledge, allowing you to find full‑text PDF articles as well as citations.
Taylor & Francis
It is a mainly English‑language database providing access to journals published by Taylor & Francis Group, including both current issues and archives from 1997 onwards, and it contains scholarly articles from many disciplines.

It is an economic portal aimed at employees of the financial sector, entrepreneurs, individual consumers of financial products, local government officials, and anyone professionally or privately interested in broadly understood financial and economic issues.
CEIDG
The Central Registration and Information on Economic Activity (CEIDG) is an electronic system that collects data on all entrepreneurs conducting business as sole proprietors or partners in civil law partnerships.
BASE
It is a multidisciplinary academic search engine for online scholarly resources, created by Bielefeld University Library in Germany, indexing over 400 million scholarly documents from more than 11,000 content providers, about 60% of which are available in full text in Open Access.
FAQ
Books can be borrowed directly at the library or ordered online via the library catalog. For online orders, books are ready for pickup within 48 hours and will be kept for you for up to 7 days.
The library is open from Monday to Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Current information can be found in the schedule.
If you are a student or a postgraduate/MBA participant at our university, you can borrow up to 10 books at the same time. Students and participants from other Merito universities can borrow up to 5 items.
You can extend the due date by logging in to your account in the library system, provided the book has not been reserved by another user.
Yes, students have access to many electronic resources, such as e‑books, databases and scholarly journals.
Books can be returned in person at the library or by placing them in the library book drop.
Yes. Books that are currently on loan can be reserved online, and when the book is returned, you will be notified by email.
People from outside the university can use the library resources on site in the reading room, but borrowing is reserved for students and staff. For details, you can ask directly at the library.
Access to the LEX database is available by logging in through the online library system, which is accessible to the university’s students and staff.
The password for your library account can be reset by contacting the library staff or by using the password recovery option on the login page of the library system.
