You can borrow 10 books for 4 weeks, with the option to extend the loan period (by phone, e‑mail or in the catalog).
Some books are available for in‑library use only.

Library – where to start?
Get familiar with the library training.
- Fill in the form in the online catalog by clicking “Account” (the icon in the top right corner of the screen) and then “Register”.
- Activate your account within 21 days by contacting us in person, by phone or by e‑mail ([email protected], providing your student ID number and field of study).
- Use the login assigned at registration and the password you created whenever you use the catalog.

How to order/reserve a book?
Step 1: Go to the Merito library electronic catalog page and log in using your library card number and password.
Step 2: Use the search tool to find the book you want to borrow.
Step 3: Check availability. If the book is available, click the “Borrow” option. If it is unavailable, you can reserve it.
Step 4: After ordering the book, you will receive a confirmation and will be able to collect it from the university library.
Extension (renewal) of a loan
- You can extend the due date of a borrowed book yourself by logging in to your library account.
- A renewal can be made up to 5 times, provided there are no other reservations for that book.
- You can also extend the due date in person at the library, by phone (+48 42 214 44 78) or by e‑mail ([email protected]).
- If the book is not returned on time, in accordance with the regulations we charge a fee of 0.60 PLN for each day overdue, for each book.
Book reservations
Thanks to the online reservation system, you can track book availability and reserve copies that are currently unavailable (on loan). When the book is returned, you will receive an e‑mail notification and will be able to collect it from the Library.
You can cancel a reservation at any time. If a book you have borrowed is reserved by another user, you will then no longer be able to extend its due date.
Pickup and return
- You can collect books in person during library opening hours or via the book locker located by the reception desk.
- You can also return books outside library opening hours by putting them into the book drop located at the main entrance to the university.
How to use electronic resources?
Using the library’s electronic resources is simple and convenient. You can browse the online catalog by logging in to your library account with your login and password.
The catalog allows you to search for books and journals, as well as to order and reserve them.
In addition to traditional resources, we offer access to electronic databases that contain a wide range of academic publications and legal information.
The login details are the same as for the catalog.
Reading room
- The reading room is equipped with computer workstations with Internet access.
- You have open access to books and journals there. The collection is arranged by subject.
- You are welcome to use our modern, high‑precision scanner.

Books can be borrowed directly at the library or ordered online via the library catalog. For online orders, books are ready for pickup within 48 hours and will be kept for you for up to 7 days.
The library is open from Monday to Sunday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Current information can be found in the schedule.
If you are a student or a postgraduate/MBA participant at our university, you can borrow up to 10 books at the same time. Students and participants from other Merito universities can borrow up to 5 items.
You can extend the due date by logging in to your account in the library system, provided the book has not been reserved by another user.
Yes, students have access to many electronic resources, such as e‑books, databases and scholarly journals.
Books can be returned in person at the library or by placing them in the library book drop.
Yes. Books that are currently on loan can be reserved online, and when the book is returned, you will be notified by email.
People from outside the university can use the library resources on site in the reading room, but borrowing is reserved for students and staff. For details, you can ask directly at the library.
Access to the LEX database is available by logging in through the online library system, which is accessible to the university’s students and staff.
The password for your library account can be reset by contacting the library staff or by using the password recovery option on the login page of the library system.
