SOFT-CLIL educational programs
Based on integrated subject-language learning, these programs are developed from the research of Dr. Barbara Muszyńska. They include lesson plans and focus on supporting the language proficiency development of children and youth.
Mindtoyness educational sets
The project focuses on researching the developmental possibilities of people with disabilities using specialized toys and educational materials. It analyzes aspects such as attention, perception, and spatial awareness, and is used in work with both children and adults.
Innovative cooperative games GameIT
The project was carried out at WSB Merito University in Wrocław in cooperation with universities from Romania, Norway, and Slovenia between 2017 and 2020. Its goal was to improve teaching methods by creating cooperative games that develop language skills. Two games were developed as part of the project: Planet Hexagon and Polonia Misteriosa, as well as an e-book of training materials. Collaboration with Board and Dice enabled the use of modern educational tools.
Lifelong learning
The promotion of lifelong learning and the recognition of learning outcomes outside formal education are key elements of educational policy in Poland. Only 4.39% of adults participate in formal education, highlighting the need for greater engagement in learning. Research at the University of Lower Silesia DSW supports the development of lifelong learning policy by creating a model approach for confirming non-formal learning outcomes.
Dictionaries of English informal expressions
Dictionaries by Professor Maciej Widawski and Dr. Małgorzata Kowalczyk are Poland’s first publications devoted to everyday expressions in British and American English. They contain 500 entries and 1,700 examples with grammatical information and Polish equivalents. The dictionaries support education, translation, and professional practice, improving knowledge of real-life language.
Data security tools
Dr. Klaudia Skelnik’s research focuses on information security in public and private institutions, indicating low quality of audits and risk analyses (48% of facilities do not conduct audits).
Results: Over half of companies have not implemented data protection mechanisms.
Recommendations: Implementation of security policies, audits, and information classification.
Message: Promoting these findings at conferences and workshops as practical solutions.
