WSB Merito University in Poznań runs international projects that enhance digital skills, distance teaching and inclusive education.

IIDEMIC

The aim of “IIDEMIC” project is to empower Somali refugees in Kenya and Somalia through enhancing their soft skills competencies and improve their entrepreneurial innovation and ability to embrace technology, which are critical skills for the future, to enhance their employability and integration.

TEDIS

The aim of the project is to develop the competencies of staff working in the field of formal and non-formal education in the area of distance teaching using online tools, in particular academic teaching staff and secondary school teachers.

IIDEMIC

The IIDEMIC project (“Inclusive and Innovative Digital Education for Migrant Community in Kenya and Somalia”) aims to transform education for Somali refugees, migrants, and host communities by combining inclusive pedagogy with modern digital tools and lifelong learning opportunities. Over three years from January 2024, an international consortium of universities in Kenya, Somalia, Turkey and Poland is developing accessible online platforms, inclusive teacher training programmes, and soft-skills oriented modules to boost employability, entrepreneurial capacity and technology adoption among refugees and internally displaced persons.

Project beneficiaries

Project is addressed to in-service teachers and ongoing professional trainees in areas that cover the project issues and Somali (and other) refugees and migrants in Kenya and IDPs in Somalia, particularly on those with special needs or living with disability.

The beneficiaries of the project are also the Kenyan and Somali HEIs` teaching staff.

The project results will be: e-learning Moodle platform and 10 online courses in three language versions: in English, Swahili and Somali

TEDIS

The TEDIS project (“Tools and Techniques Supporting Lecturers and Teachers in Distance Learning”) aims to develop the competences of academic staff, secondary school teachers and non-formal educators in online teaching, through 12 innovative online courses offered in Polish, English and Icelandic. Running from March 2023 to April 2024, it focuses on topics such as mediation in online conflict resolution, Oxford debate in virtual classes, gamification with AI tools, interactive whiteboards, quiz tools, remote assessment and building online learning communities.

Project title

The aim of the project

The aim of the project is to develop competences in distance teaching with the use of online tools among staff working in the field of formal and non-formal education, in particular university and secondary school teachers.

 

Project duration:
1 March 2023 – 30 April 2024 – 14 months
