Research and projects
Examples of our partnerships with the socio-economic environment
SOFT-CLIL educational programs
Based on integrated subject-language learning, the programs were developed from the research of Dr. Barbara Muszyńska. They contain lesson plans focused on supporting the language competence development of children and youth.
Mindtoyness educational kits
The project focuses on researching the developmental possibilities of people with disabilities through the use of specialized toys and educational materials, analyzing aspects such as attention, perceptiveness, and spatial sensitivity. These are applied when working with both children and adults.
Innovative cooperative games GameIT
The project was carried out at WSB Merito University in Wrocław in cooperation with universities from Romania, Norway, and Slovenia from 2017 to 2020. Its goal was to improve teaching methods by creating cooperative games that develop language skills. Two games were developed within it: Planet Hexagon and Polonia Misteriosa, along with an e-book containing training materials. Collaboration with the company Board and Dice enabled the use of modern educational tools.
Lifelong learning
The promotion of lifelong learning and the recognition of learning outcomes acquired outside formal education are key elements of Poland’s educational policy. Only 4.39% of adults participate in formal education, highlighting the need for greater engagement in learning. Research conducted by the DSW University of Lower Silesia supports the development of lifelong learning policies, creating a model approach for confirming the outcomes of non-formal learning.
English slang expression dictionaries
Dictionaries by Prof. Maciej Widawski and Dr. Małgorzata Kowalczyk are the first publications in Poland devoted to everyday expressions in English (both British and American). They contain 500 entries and 1,700 examples with grammatical information and their Polish equivalents. The dictionaries support education, translation, and professional practice, improving knowledge of living language.
