What are "cookies" files?
"Cookies" files should be understood as IT data, in particular text files, stored on users’ end devices, intended for the use of websites. These files make it possible to recognise the user’s device and properly display the website adapted to their individual preferences. "Cookies" usually contain the name of the website from which they originate, the period of their storage on the end device and a unique number.

For what purposes do we use "cookies" files?
We use "cookies" files in order to:

  • adapt the content of the Service websites to the User’s preferences and optimise the use of websites; in particular, these files make it possible to recognise the Service User’s device and properly display the website, adjusted to their individual needs
  • create statistics which help to understand how Service Users use websites, which makes it possible to improve their structure and content
  • maintain the Service User’s session (after logging in), thanks to which the User does not have to re-enter their login and password on every subpage of the Service.

What types of "cookies" files do we use?
Two basic types of cookies are used within the websites: "session" cookies and "persistent" cookies. Session cookies are temporary files which are stored on the User’s end device until logging out, leaving the website or switching off the software (web browser). Persistent cookies are stored on the User’s end device for the time specified in the parameters of the cookies or until they are removed by the User.

The following types of cookies are used within the websites:

  • "necessary" (technical) cookies, enabling the use of services available within the websites, supporting security or helping to maintain an appropriate performance of the sites, e.g. cookies used for services requiring authentication;
  • "analytics and statistics" are web analytics cookies which make it possible to better understand how users interact with the content of the websites, in order to better organise the layout of our site. They collect information on how visitors use our site, on the type of site from which users were redirected, as well as the number of visits and the time of users’ visits on this site. This information does not record specific personal data of the user, but is used to prepare aggregated statistics on the use of the site. For this purpose, we use the Google Analytics solution.
  • "personalisation" are cookies which make it possible to "remember" settings selected by the User and to personalise the User’s interface, e.g. with regard to the selected language or region from which the User comes, font size, website appearance, etc.
  • "advertising and marketing" are cookies which make it possible to provide Users with advertising content that is more tailored to their interests

Do "cookies" files contain personal data?
Personal data collected using "cookies" files may be gathered solely for the purpose of performing specific functions for the user. Such data are encrypted in a way that prevents access to them by unauthorised persons.

Deleting "cookies" files
As a rule, the software used to browse websites by default allows "cookies" files to be placed on the end device. These settings can be changed in such a way as to block the automatic handling of "cookies" in the web browser settings or to inform about each time they are sent to the user’s device. Detailed information on the possibilities and ways of handling "cookies" files is available in the settings of the software (web browser)

Limiting the use of "cookies" files may affect some of the functionalities available on the website.
